Principal

Mrs. Shannon Finley

Mrs. Finley has been an educator for 25 years and is a graduate of Alexandria High School. She began her career at AES in 1999 where she taught first, second, and third grade. While at AES she achieved National Board Certification in Early Childhood (2006), and earned state recognition as Alabama’s Elementary Teacher of the Year (2009-2010). As elementary teacher of the year, she traveled throughout Alabama doing presentations and workshops for teachers.

Mrs. Finley served as assistant principal at Alexandria High School from 2015-2017 and was named Principal at Alexandria Middle School in 2017, where she’s served since. She is married to Keith Finley and they have two kids, Reagan and Eric.

Mrs. Finley looks forward to returning to where she started and is excited about the adventures ahead as Alexandria Elementary School Principal!

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Cynthia Cain

Cindy Cain attended Jacksonville State University where she graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors in Science degree in Elementary Education.  In 2016, she graduated from The University of Alabama with a Masters Degree in Instructional Leadership. 

Mrs. Cain has fifteen years in the Calhoun County School System. She has been a paraprofessional and has taught grades Kindergarten through Third Grade.

Mrs. Cain is married to Chris Cain. They have two boys and one granddaughter.
